The Malting House team very much enjoyed collaborating with members of Dundee Community Food Network (formerly Dundee Food Insecurity Network) to create their new logo.
The logo had to represent nearly 30 associated groups and the wide variety of projects they carry out which include community cafes, community larders, befriending, and growing and cooking food.
We began by hosting a brand workshop with representatives from the network to gather thoughts around their vision and values, target audiences and appropriate visual elements.
After creating some initial concepts, the group gave their feedback and we developed final designs which represent food choice, local produce (strawberry), the social aspects of the cafes (slice of Dundee cake) and growing food (carrots).
We also provided a simple brand guideline to help members of the network use the logo consistently across all the different projects.
Director of the project, Jacky Close gave us a lovely testimonial; “This logo is positive, bright, and very representative of the Network and all they do in the city and in their communities.”
